Faiveley has a superb estate on the Côte Chalonnaise, and a separate, newlyrenovated winery in Mercurey to handle all the fruit as near to the vineyards as possible. They are sole proprietor of this vineyard, which is regularly their best white from the district. It is now two-thirds vinified in stainless steel tank, with the balance in oak barrels. This has very pretty colour – pale lemongold, with hints of green. Nose is open, ripe and most attractive. The palate is well-structured, with luscious fruit, creamy texture and splendid length – brilliant value (for drinking 2017-2020+).
