This is made from 80% Sauvignon blanc, with 20% Semillon. It is ageing in oak barrels which are 30% new, with 40% having contained a wine for one year, and 30% having held two harvests. This barrel-ageing policy allows for the beneficial effects of oak ageing, without risking the wine’s piercingly fresh fruitiness being muted by the casks. It will spend about 7 months in wood, then be bottled promptly, to capture its vivaciousness in full. The wine is pale, green-gold, with very clean, Sauvignon aromas of great purity. The palate shows explosive fruit from the start, the middle being rich without heaviness, the finish balanced, crisp and lively (for drinking 2017-2021+).
