The most commonly planted type of Aligoté grape in Burgundy often needs Crème de Cassis to make it palatable. This Bouzeron, by contrast, is 90% made from golden Aligoté grapes (Aligotés Dorés) which give lower yields, with distinctly more intense flavours. 10% of normal Aligoté grapes (tightly pruned) complete the blend, bringing welcome freshness. Pretty, green-golden in colour with clean aromas, this is full-bodied, round and fresh, without sharpness – a bargain, for immediate drinking.
