This comes entirely from the Chassagne-Montrachet sector of Bâtard-Montrachet, from magnificently-situated vines which lie just across the road from Le Montrachet itself. Planted in 1983 by his late grandfather, these vines have now reached full maturity. Only two barrels were made, one being new for this fermentation. This has pale golden colour, with very beautiful, well-ripened aromas. The palate is intensely fruity, with creamily-textured layers of flavour, impressive volume, charming spiciness and phenomenal length (for drinking 2016-2025+).
