Many people believe that Caillerets is the best terroir in the village. Although these vines are still quite young (10-11 years old) they have given a wine of striking finesse and beauty. The bunches were totally de-stemmed prior to fermentation. This has medium deep, ruby-purple colour, with very fine Pinot fragrance. Palate is full, fresh and well-balanced with delicate tannins and succulent, refreshing length. This wine is to Volnay what Amoureuses is to Chambolle – gracefully poised, showing perfect harmony, with lovely length (for drinking 2018-2030+).
