Jean-Claude Marsanne lives and works in Mauves in the southern part of the Saint-Joseph appellation, opposite Tain l’Hermitage. He uses traditional methods to make one beautiful cuvée of Saint-Joseph. This 2014 vintage is mid ruby colour, aromas being open and intense, with notes of dried rose petals complimenting pure black cherry fruitiness. Full but linear on the palate, this is a precise, well structured wine with good depth of cherry, black pepper and black olive flavour, coating the mouth. This is a long flavoured, finely textured wine that draws you back for more (for drinking 2017-2020+).
