These grapes were harvested from two 40-year-old plots which lie downhill from Chassagne’s road to Santenay, two thirds coming from Les Platières, with the remaining third being tiny Pinot grapes from Les Lombardes. Natural yeasts have transformed the sugars, after 4-5 days of cool, pre-fermentation maceration, into a wine of medium-rich, red-purple colour, with very fragrant aromas. The palate is full-bodied, with dense middle fruitiness, gentle tannins and impressive length (for drinking 2018-2024+).
