This is a fascinating wine coming 80% from the 1st Growth Les Baudes, which lies just across the Route des Grands Crus from Bonnes-Mares. The balance is from a vineyard uphill of Bonnes-Mares, which is not a 1st Growth, but superbly placed, producing perfumed, elegant wine. Assembled together, the result is modestly labelled Chambolle-Musigny. Colour is bright, purple-ruby, the nose showing good fruit, with meaty character. Palate has substantial body, with rich fruitiness, balanced tannins and splendid length (for drinking 2018-2025+).
