This wine comes from two plots within Morgeot, Les Brussonnes and Les Boirettes, both planted over 85 years ago. They lie between the Abbaye de Morgeot and the Santenay commune border. These are really fine Pinots giving small bunches with tiny, thick-skinned grapes. This year, thanks to the ripeness of the vintage, Marc-Antonin elected to vinify with 1/3 whole bunches, which has added aromatic complexities.
This is impressive, purple-ruby, with attractive floral and gently spiced aromas. The palate shows outstanding fruit concentration, rich tannins and impressive length (for drinking 2017-2022+).
