5km north of the town of Saint-Emilion, it is a delight to have found a wine from the satellite appellation of Montagne-Saint-Emilion delivers the attractive, lifted, red cherry aromatics so typical of Saint-Emilion but without the Saint-Emilion price tag. 70% Merlot brings juiciness of fruit, the 15%/15% split of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon contributes complexity of perfume and brightness of mouthfeel to the blend. This is a pretty, full-yet-lively wine, with a smooth finish.
