Medium ruby colour, this 2008 Batailley has attractive aromas combining sweet, floral blackcurrant fruit with savoury, cedar and tobacco spiciness – classic Pauillac qualities. Full and rich on the palate, this wine is hitting its stride now, being open and fresh, with silky, rounded tannins, the finish being long-flavoured and satisfying. This is a wonderful bottle to open now, and will continue to be delicious for at least another 5 years.
